5/16/2008 2:24:05 PMGRILLE SCHEDULE MAY / JUNEThe Grille will be closed this Friday, May 16 as we host the annual Chamber of Commerce Outing. The rain date for the event is next Friday, May 23 in case Mother Nature does not smile on us tomorrow. The Grille will also be closed as we host the Heart Association on Friday, June 6.
Early Friday Night Dining (6 PM Seating) will be featured in conjunction with Couples play on Friday, June 13, 20, & 27. Please call or e-mail your reservation requests so that we may better serve you.
The next Dinner Club function is scheduled for Saturday, June 27. Last Saturday's "Grille Out" was a huge success although the threat of inclement weather forced us to dine inside. Thanks for your support!!!
Dick Esterson, Food & Beverage Director
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED !!! Several employees and members have brought to my attention the fact that they have observed drinks being brought on the course that were not purchased at the Club. The Club policy is for all food and beverages to be purchased at the Club. Our liquor license also provides for on-premise purchase and consumption and not for "brown bagging".
We appreciate those of you who are following the policy in that your support helps to pay the staff and keep the prices moderate for a Private Golf Club. If you have played at any other upscale courses recently, I'm sure you know what I mean.
The coolers are on the carts as a convenience for our members. Please use them in accordance with Club policy. Thank you for your support. As always, let us know your thoughts so that we may continue to improve.

LET'S TALK TURFTransitional times - It has been several weeks since the chemical application was applied to greens and tees to remove the winter overseeded grass. Since then you may have noticed the green speed has increased somewhat. This is a normal "symptom" during our transition back to bermudagrass as the newly emerging turf has less leaf surface area and very little cushion (thatch) compared to the established turf you were putting on in March & April. Over the next several weeks you will notice the greens return to a more "normal" green speed as the bermudagrass matures.
Project update - The bunker at the no. 1 green will be completed by the end of this work week before the MGA monthly tournament. Please be careful and stay off the sod slopes as this ground will be soft and unstable until the grass "grows in". Once these sod slopes "grow in" we will remove the form boards around the edge of the bunker. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as it takes everyone's help to make Maple Ridge the best it can be.

POTENTIAL MEMBER DAYSince our newsletter database is large and ever-growing, we'd like to use it to first announce an event designed for newcomers who might need that final reason to commit to membership at "The Chattahoochee Valley's Friendliest, Most Affordable Private Golf Club"!
On Saturday afternoon, June 14 (during a weekend best known for Flag Day, Father's Day and the U.S. Open) we're inviting prospective new members to play Maple Ridge for just $25, which covers 18 holes, cart, range balls and snacks. We'll have a shotgun start (exact time to be announced), require advance reservations and a brief pre-round gathering to hear our best pitch.
And here it is: Big savings on your initiation fee when others join with you! Our multiple-joiners can pay as little as $250 for what ordinarily costs up to $2,000! Best of all - you don't even have to know the others you join with! We'll match you up!
So by all means, bring your golf buddies - but even if you're by yourself, we'll match you up with someone like-minded who's ready to save money. On top of this, you'll still qualify for "Plus Four" membership drive gifts like a free month's cart fees or dues, three-lesson package or free guest card upon payment of your discounted initiation fee!
Call Cheryl and me as soon as possible to secure your spot: 706-569-0966, or e-mail cklobe@wcbradley.com or rjacobson@wcbradley.com.
